STOP 11 T.C. Oliver Apartment Studio

Address - 1419 Hurley Ave, Fort Worth, Tx 76104

Artist: T.C. Oliver

What’s Happening - My exhibition will be a showcase of my work and a look into the location that facilitates my practice. Using the communal courtyard area of my apartment building has been an exercise in flexibility, community, and practicality. I believe it’s important to do what you can with what you have. The space I work in has shaped the work I’ve made there and I would like to highlight that in my exhibition. I will have pieces on view that will serve as visual examples of how I’ve had to alter my practice to work with this space. I will have the tools I use on display but not in operation. There will also be merch (buttons, stickers, zines) on sale. My zine “Making Sawdust” is a primer for how I use tools in my woodworking practice. I’m hopeful that this exhibition is an opportunity to bring the subject of that zine to life!
